Software Development Engineer
What is the job about?
As software development engineer you will focus on developing vehicle-related applications. In the automotive industry a wide range of vehicle-related software is rapidly becoming more and more important. The applications range from vehicle diagnostics to autonomous vehicles. Obviously Terberg Benschop wants to stay ahead in this area. You will be working on applications to predict preventive maintenance and also software to support the tractor drivers. We use C# and the .NET application framework. We are considering migration towards a Java platform. For vehicle control we use Codesys and CANBus systems. Your familiarity with mechanical structures and hydraulic systems as well as general vehicle software enables you to link these two worlds.
What do we expect from you?
Computer science degree, or another degree and demonstrable programming experience. Familiarity with C#/JAVA/JSF/JPA and Design Patterns. Ability to solve problems independently, an appreciation of commercial issues, and good command of written and spoken English. German language skills would be an advantage, as would be interest in automotive engineering. Two to five years' experience in the automotive industry would be preferable. You are familiar with CAN systems, machinery safety and CE approvals.

Your analytical skills and flexible approach enable you to develop applications. You are a good communicator, working with colleagues in a small team, and internal clients, project engineers, testers and subject-matter experts. You may also have to liaise with customers to ensure that their requirements are correctly interpreted and implemented.
